Hi, All

I'm a new member to the forum and have just sent my initial letter to The Abbey. I'm sure all will go fine if I follow the excellent advice of all the members who have posted re their experiences.

I'm thinking I'll be claiming ~£800 so there will be a donation to the forum forthcoming once all is complete. :)

Take care

Hi there!

Welcome to the forum!

Yes the CAG is the only way as the steps work.

So I thought I would add a little of what to expect now you have sent your first letter off.

Knowing the Abbey as I do, they will probably reply to your first letter saying they are sorry you are not happy and that they require 4 - 8 weeks to deal with it.

A really good link to the progress of what to expect is here.

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/faqs-please-read-these/31460-example-step-step-instructions.html

The site with the step by step instrunctions and time frames are what forms complaince to the Civil Procedure Rules of a claim. So if you get the above letter, once you have received the response, you can go onto the next step!

If they do not reply within the time of the first letter and you hear nothing....then send the letter. Its good to make sure the letters are traceable so signed for is well worth it.

The next letter you will need is here.

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/bank-templates-library/92-3-letter-before-action.html

The abbey forum is here -

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/abbey-bank/

All the best...final run now!

CJ
