Hi all,

i am now at the stage of filling in my N1 claim form, its actualy about 4 weeks overdue.

i have asked for help to figure out interest, but i think i must be totally stupid cos i just dont understand what im being told. i cant open the spreadsheet for some reason, so i dont have a clue what to do. everyone else can do it by the looks of searching through millions of posts, ive been searching since December!!

ive been givin a few pointers but i really dont understand how to work out the 8%, e.g from what dates, and as i dont have an overdraft (i'm not allowed one) does this change the interest? I had a look through all my statements going back 6 years and the only interest i have paid only amounts to £5 or so.

I have another thread but dont think its shouting loud enough.

can anyone help?

please? :???:

Go to FAQ on top of page in blue line, click on, go through info till you come to red FAQ clck on then you want template library, or you could just search template library. Then go to sticky 6 Interest Calculator Spreedsheets try the first one and see if that opens

Try this

There's a few to try.......mindzai's, the vampiress and google, or excel

I'm used to excel, and while I'm no expert, I could give you a hand if you get stuck

Right you got the sheet ok, you go on the boxes ie name, click on you fill in your details yeh,

You just fill in what the charge was ie late payment, how much ie £20.00 date of charge ie Jan2004. It then works it all out for you at 8%. When you have filled in all your details delete all the rest on there and print it off. Bl**dy magic really. Ley us know how you go on:)

Thanks for replies.

I cant write on the spreadsheet as I don’t have a product key to use it. I don’t have “excel” only “works” but that doesn’t open for some reason? I don’t know if its my pc (I don’t think it is) or the link that’s not working.

mariejadder,

When I looked at the spreadsheet, it says “days since offence” and below it has numbers from the thousands descending. What’s this?

Can someone try to open the "works" spreadsheet to see if it is my pc or not? I cant use any other one. or do i have to ask a mod?

Hi

I had loads of problems trying to open the interest spreadsheets,in the end I used the interest calculator on the Money saving expert website it works out the 8% interest for you.

Don't know if that's any use to you.

Good luck

Glad:p

OK i have a question.

I had £590 paid to me as a gogw which i accepted as part payment. how do i work that with the interest? After taking off the £590 (gogw) it leaves a claim for £1129, do i calculate for £1129 or the original £1719 as i have done.

Also, does £150 for interest sound about right?

:-?

you don't change the interest at all. Keep the calculations exactly as they are, just deduct the GOGW off the final total.

Sounds right otherwise. keep going and keep us posted

I won against MBNA, Nat West , Barclays, Barclaycard and PPI payments from Barclaycard

Abbey National still to go.... what will I do with my spare time?
