hi MBB it may help to start your own thread on here in order for people to help you and not to hijack Fred's.

Firstly, at Chester Towers the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Don't expect any reasonable dialogue with them as you won't get it.

I've been in dispute with MBNA since April 07 regarding non compliance with a CCA - they have even admitted they don't have the original copy - yet this hasn't stopped them defaulting the account in Nov 07.

No default notice was ever sent, I don't think the debt has been sold on as I don't get any scummy DCAs chasing. I'm just in limbo with a dodgy credit file.

Be warned - MBNA are a law unto themselves - they WILL default the account and then inform you "no further correspondence"

I don't mean to put you off - I'm just saying be prepared for the long haul :)

I HATE MBNA :evil::-x:mad::-x

No hijacking intended, just wanted to make sure I was on the right lines before starting a new thread (have got sleeping bag and thermos so well prepared for the long haul ;)).

Hi MBB,

Feel free to pinch what you like - I almost certainly did so in the first place. Redsue is right - they are slippery so and so's so be careful. Another of their tricks is to ring you, ask for you by your first name then start talking without bothering to take any steps to ascertain that you really are who they want to speak to. Just remember the golden rule - don't talk to them.

Looks like you've made a good start. I'll keep an eye out for your thread, so post a link on here once you've started it.

Good luck.

Regards.

Fred

Before you criticise another man you should first walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you criticise him, you'll be a mile away and he won't have any shoes on.

Don't get me confused with somebody knowledgeable by all those green blobs. I got most of them by making people laugh.

Nice thought CitiB, but somehow I doubt it. I'm just wondering who it will go to next. I hope it's Wescot. I've already got them running around in circles over two other accounts and it would be nice to get the hat trick. On the other hand, I might get a new DCA to play with.

I'm sure I'll find out soon enough.

Regards.

Well I hadn't heard anything for a while until today when I got a letter from MBNA telling me that they have now passed the management of this account onto Allied Credit International. I can't scan it at the moment but there isn't much more to it than that.

Anyone had any dealings with AIC and could tell me what to expect?

Regards.

Thanks CitiB. I did do a search earlier on and found a few links. It seems like they are a pretty nasty lot. That doesn't bother me to be honest, I'm well equipped to deal with whatever they throw at me and in a perverse sort of way I'm looking forward to it.

I do wonder though, if people like MBNA have a kind of scale when passing things on to DCAs, i.e. "we'll try IQOR first and if they don't do the job we'll bring in the nasty ba****ds".

Regards.

I've seen off IQOR on this accont, so I don't think for one minute AIC will be any more succesful. They might just provide a bit of excitement in a pretty dull time (DCA-wise) at the moment. I'll just have to wait and see. Apparently, I can expect a yellow envelope first. Can't wait!

I just spotted something and I don't know how relevant this is, if at all. My original agreement with MBNA was with 'MBNA International Bank'. This was changed back in 2003 to 'MBNA Europe'. Is this in any way significant?

Regards.

Cheers BRW.

It's not really important to me to be honest - I just wondered if there was anything untoward going on. You know how much regard MBNA pay towards UK law.

I'm just going to concoct a letter in response to the Gorbals girlie's 'phone call. Think I'll get my revenge in first.
