I am currently being harrassed by these debt collectors for a Vanquis Credit Card Debt. I have told them that I have sent a SAR to Vanquis requesting my statements as alot of this debt is made up of charges and until I have received them I am not discussing this debt with them. They continue to phone me in work, home and even my mums telephone number! They say they are now passing it to ther Solicitors for Court Action and that I am not able to claim charges that have not been paid first and that I would have to Counter claim for my charges are they correct.

While an account is in dispute NO action maybe taken.

Send them an official dispute notice via recorded mail, also while your at it send them a "don't call" letter as well. There's a good template here: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/bank-templates-library/37006-harassment-telephone-response-letter.html

Also have a look through this thread for some excellent tips on harressment:

Be VERY careful whose advice you listen too

Hi

I have a credit management company CDI Management chasing me and threatening all sorts i.e. bankruptcy proceedings on an amount owing - to which CDI seem to keep adding various unexplained amounts to- to a company that supposed fixed our boiler (but didn't). We are disputing the works on the grounds of incomplete and substandard work and have told CDI this in writing on a few occassions.

According to them they have registered a default notice againist me but I don't have a credit agreement with them or the company concerned

I have a similar problem with Vanquis, they are an absolute joke. First they had Moorcrap DCA hassling me. I CCA'd Moorcrap and they couldn't produce it, and I have that in writing. Then 1st Credit contacted me for the same debt, which I ignored. Now Cabot seem to have bought the alleged debt from Vanquis. Looks like Vanquis wanted to get shot of this debt and sold it on. I don't have the heart to tell Cabolt that they have bought an unenforcable debt from Vanquis. Oh go on then, I'll tell them:D .
