Firstly hello everyone, came to yourselves as I am totally overwhelmed with this claiming bank charges. 1. Nationwide - when I was off on maternity leave I forgot to cancel dd with the company but did with n/wide but they charged me £30.00 each time they were asked and insufficient money was in the account, I got angry decided to claim back all the charges since they would not refund the initial £30's now I have taken them to court for £1750 + interest they waited till the last day to contest it and now I am awaiting the next step from the court not sure what to do then. Next Lloyds refused to refund my over my overdraft charge £35.00 so I reclaimed the lot £1800 plus interest just got a letter from them today saying they will not refund any of it as it is in their contract - should I send them another letter reiterating taking them to court or just start court proceeding. I just need some reassuring and helpful pointers as I am a bit scared.

Hi Givemeback.

It is most important that you spend a few days, at least, reading the FAQs and the step by step guide.

This is a self-help forum so it is essential that you put the effort in.

Remember it's your claim....Your money....Your homework.

Good luck.

Hello and Welcome, Givemeback.

Scared ! of what, the Big Bad Banks. Yes I was too until I found this site.

Read all the F.A.Q.s and Step-By-Step Instructions, they have worked for lot's and lot's of happy people on this site. Remember to stick to your timetable, the Banks will do as much as possible to fob you off and delay giving you your money back.Have a look in your banks forum, read a few threads then start one yourself. Also have a look at all the banks successes, that's bound to give you some courage! Stick with it.

Regards.

Scott.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi everyone thanks for the message of encourangment - well here comes the update - Nationwide settled in full on the day the court summons ran out!!! However the account was transferred to debt recovery last year and I was paying off the debt with them - which was down to 280 however according to nationwide the account was still with them as well attracting yes you've guessed it interest and o/draft excess fee! will be speaking to them on Tuesday about this otherwise I will continue with my case but this time claiming back those charges unless they clear them.
