Just wondering as a matter of interest (and because my claim is approaching the Subject Access Request deadline), whether people that are experiencing non-compliance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act have considered copying the Information Commissioner's Office with their non-compliance letters?.

Aaronsdad made a very good point in another thread I was reading earlier:

the more people that complain about them not conforming to the Data Protection Act law the better it will be in the future.

Surely on this point the banks are getting away with it again? The more people that let the Regulatory Authority know about instances of non-compliance, the more potentially damaging it might be for the banks, not only in terms of general compliance, but also negative publicity?

Just a thought.

The ICO's complaints section, with addresses and a downloadable complaint form are here

P.S. I did try a search on this to make sure it hadn't come up in a previous post but it turned up nothing. Apologies in advance if I missed something ;)
