Hi,

I recently transfered some money onto a credit card to gain advatage of the 0% offer. when I looked at the balance on my old credit card a week later the new credit credit card company had requested the money twice but it had only shown up once on the new card. This meant I was then in credit on my old card and had gained money :D !

Now a month later the new credit card company sent me a letter saying sorry for the inconvenience but to resolve the situation could I give authorisation on my old card for them to take it back! If i've already taken the money off the old card, am I responsible if the money is not there anymore as I didn't ask for it in the first place  !? or am I legally bound to owe them the money regardless of their error and the fact that I might have spent it  ?

cheers

I'm afraid you certainly are responsible for it.

Hindsight's wonderful, but surely it would have made sense to check BEFORE spending it?!?

There's not a lot I can say constructively on this sorry.
