I started a NatWest claim at the same time as this Lloyds TSB claim, so posting here also to keep track of whats going off etc.

My letter requesting statements/charges was sent off today to LTBS via 1st class recorded delivery.

Tracking number for personal reference is: DH839767149GB.

Kinda worried about the whole process but the fact I want my money back is greater than worry

Good luck - keep us posted.
Will do.

Just thinking about calculating the fees when I get my statements. I used to have an overdraft, which I don't anymore. Their overdraft charges at the time, can I claim those back as charges or is it just the returned DD/failed cheques etc charges to claim back?

Thanks in advance.

Lisa

Lisa - When you know the money is yours, but its just a matter of time before you get it, it's all gravy !! Just a shame LTSB and [problem] can't get it into their heads that putting off the inevitable is a shameful waste of time !

Have fun :D

All depends what charges you are referring to - what are the charges called on your statements?
I haven't got my statements yet so couldn't tell you but I am referring to the % they charge when you are in your overdraft and possibly charges for going over an unauthorised overdraft?

Thanks,

Lisa

Not heard nothing from TSB at all. Although I do know they have until Friday 8th June to comply (40 days.)

They charged me another 2 charges today at £35 each (£70) and says unpaid S/O and Unpaid D/D although there hasn't been any unpaid DD's SO's on my account as far as I can see *shrug*

I'll be adding them when I get my statements!!!

Just wondering if anyone here sent another letter after so long just reminding them about the S.A.R and days left etc? Not heard anything at all from them and I know time is not up but thought a gentle reminder in the post might push them a little :)

I received a letter from LTSB today and in some parts it seems a standard bugger off letter there are other parts which have confused me. I will type below. I'd appreciate some help in this. I have bolded the parts in which they seem custom to me and need help on...

7th June

My Address details

etc

etc

Dear Mrs ::Lisa::

Thank you for getting in touch with us. I am sorry you are unhappy about your account charges.

Like any business, we do make a charge for some of our extra services. When customers don't have enough money in their accounts to cover a payment, this always means extra work - and it has to happen very quickly. We have to agree to make the payment by setting up or increasing an overdraft, or tell customers we can't agree it. We feel it's fair to charge for this service.

Of course it's only fair too, that we're completely open about any charged-for services before you might need them. That's why we take care to give every new customer the lately guide to our charges. You can also get up-to-date details about fees and borrowing rates at all our branches, through our helpline and on our website.

Just as importantly, we do everything we can to help our customers avoid these charges. You can get an up-to-date balance at any of our cash machines, over the phone, on line and by weekly text to your mobile.

If you know a payment is going to take you over the agreed limit, you're welcome to see if there's anything we can do.

The Office of Fair Trading has published new guidelines on credit card default charges. We're still talking it through with them, but the important point is that the guidelines are about 'default' charges that people pay when they break an agreement with us. This doesn't apply to your charges as these were for dealing with your request to go over your agreed overdraft limit. They are not default charges because you haven't broken your agreement. They are prices for the service we provide in these situations.

I understand that you may also have some concerns about us sharing information about your relationship with us with the credit reference agencies we use. I'd like to reassure you that this does not apply to bank charges; we only share what is known as white data, which is information about payments to your credit card, loan or mortgage accounts.

I do hope you can see that we make our charging system as fair as possible - and why I can't agree to cancel your charges.

If you have asked for copy statements and paid the fee, we'll send them to you within the 40 day limit set by the data protection act.

>

I hope this fully answers the points you raised with us. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. If we cannot come to an agreement, I will provide you with details of the Financial Ombudsman Service to they can consider your complaint independently.

If you are happy with the way I dealt with your complaint, there is no need for you to reply to my letter. If I have not heard from you by the 2nd August 2007 I will close my file, though of course I will reopen it should you come back at any point afterwards.

Yours sincerely,

Do I reply to this ASAP or just ignore it and send off LBA when Pre-lim time runs out.

Also, the bolded parts...

Why are they quoting credit card stuff when my account is a current (classic) account? They're also saying that my charges are service for the over the overdraft fee. Most of the charges I received were the Overdraft fee, but there were quite a few DD return fees (not many but still) which made me go over that limit.

I'm not sure why they're talking about the S.A.R statements too when it was clear I got a list of charges since I put that in the pre-lim letter.

Do I reply?
