Had a letter today from LTSB offering £750.00.This is a refund from a closed account.We are currently paying the debt of £1360.00 which consists of overdraft and bank charges through a debt collection agency.LTSB want to pay the £750.00 directly off this balance.Can i demand a cheque directly to myself as i am in an agreement to the debt collection agency.Also shall i proceed to ask for a full refund.

I too would be very interested to know if Lloyds can legally pay the amount off of what they've passed on to a DCA, instead of sending us the cheque personally.

 

I am in a similar position to you but worse (probably due to my messing up the initial claim!). Lloyds didn't offer me anything, they just issued a counterclaim for the whole amount that i owed them when the account was closed. I had already come to an arrangement with the DCA to pay off this debt. It hadn't occured to me that they might be able to just take the charges refund off of the DCA balance. Hopefully someone can answer this for us.
