I wrote to lloyds asking for my charges to be reimbursed.at the end of February this year. My reply came 4 weeks later and was very patronising and insulting and claimed that even though the bank statement called them overdraft excess fee and unpaid direct debit fee that these charges were for services i had requested.The reply also gave me a detailed explanation of how to check my account balance at an ATM machine. I have had an account with the tsb as was for 24 years yet this patronising prat tells me that when I opened my account I should have received a detailed leaflet of all charges as this is a common practice with all new customers. It is highly likely that my years at the bank far outway his and he has the audacity to insinuate i am some kind of imbercile and make any negotiation impossible as it feels he has made if feel like a personal dig at myself. when the only problems i had started when lloyds tsb staff started to advise me.

:evil: Give me some idea of what to do next as any form of letter could end of in a personal slanging match?

Right to the letter before action and show them you are serious!

 

I would send them the letter before action which gives them 14 days.

Send the letter off and wait the 14 days!

 

You can choose to wait for them to contact you as in their letter, it depends on whether you are pro active or re active to how you deal with them.

 

If you send the letter off, spend the time till they reply reading up on how to claim via the court and read into which way you might claim.

You may also like to read up on fees and if you have to pay them!

 

You can apply for an exemption through the court when you file your claim so it is worth a read and if in hardship, worth applying.

Welcome to the forum,

 

Basically you have got your first fob off letter.Just follow the instructions in the templates library, stick to the timetable in there and you will get your money back.

jaeh38 do as the previous posters have said. I know patronising letters from the bank are annoying but the thing to do is not get mad, get even. You will come to enjoy watching them squirm.
