Hi there, thought I'd better make an introduction.

39 year old male in London. Browsed my way into this site while looking up bailiff powers.

I've got an issue at the moment where I has a notice threatening to clamp my car if I didn't pay up £600 ... I already know I don't have to let them into my house, so I'm gonna have to search some more to see if I can find what I need to do to get out of the clamping threat.

Anyway .. I look forward to reading some more of this forum.

  • 1 year later...

I came back from holiday today and there was a ticket on my car stating that it was an offence to drive it and that I need to contact the bailiff. When I called them he stated that he was from Philips and I needed to pay the sum of £600 immediately - no installments - or my car will be repossessed. It's for a parking ticket from Jan 08 in Westminster which stood at £120 when they passed it over to Philips. What can I do?

Sorry, but if this is for just one PCN that you need to be asking questions of Philips as to how the bailiff fees could possibly be this amount.

Our office have recently requested a copy of the contract between City of Westminster and Philips Ltd as we are seriously concerned at the level of charges that we are hearing that their bailiffs are applying to the collection of outstanding PCN's.

In the first instance you need to telephone the Traffic Enforcement Centre to ask the date of the Warrant of Execution and to ensure that it is against your address.

Their telephone number is 08457 045 007.
