Claiming in Scotland against Lloyds.

Hi Folks,

Hope someone can help!I've posted the first letter to Lloyds requesting payment and after 2 weeks was sent the usual standard dross back.I then sent another letter threatening court action.I've heard nothing this time.I am owed nearly 3 grand in charges.I realise this is too much for the small claims court.I was thinking of going straight to the financial ombudsman? Is there anyone who can advise?

My advice would be to file your complaint with the FOS

your complaint and the ombudsman - our consumer leaflet

 

You can also try to phone the bank and let them know that you are about to file your complaint and see if they are willing to settle.

I guess Pict's advice is the best I have never done anything with the FOS

hi mel, you can claim using mcol if you have an english address you can use, i used my aunts address and she forwarded the letters to me ( only two letters) i found this fairly straighforward and it is another option for you, best of luck x

Hi,

 

i am at the same stage with lloyds. I sent the first two letters and only got back the tcs letters. I phoned the FSO and they sent me out a pack to complete and also sent back a photocopy of everything i had sent and received from lloyds by recorded delivery that was on the 29th of march and i called yesterday and the lady said they are just about to start work on mail received the start of april.

 

I am claiming back £2000. In the letter to FSO i also added the 8% as we should be entitled to this as it is not our fault scottish small claims is only upto £750.
