I wouldn't be too hasty about trying to enter judgement, they will more than likely get their defence in right at the last minute or even a day late, the court does allow them this. If you have already entered judgement against them and the court then allows the defence to be submitted they will be able to apply for a set aside, this will merely delay proceedings even further and you dont want that as this is a long enough process as it is.

My advice would be to allow them a couple more days, I'm sure they will enter their defence, they always do!!

Why do the courts allow the banks an extra day over the 28 already given to them?

Surely 28 days is more than enough to enter a defence

Your guess is as good as mine, but it just seems to be the case I'm afraid. I feel as though it's worth waiting that extra day before trying to enter judgement rather than the possibility of having them apply for a set aside. At the end of the day the final outcome is conclusive, the charges will be returned, so I think it's better to wait the odd day as oppose to several more weeks, which could be the case if the set aside is granted.

In that case I will need to amend my timeframes for entering judgemnet against Nat West and Nationwide.

Thanks for the tip
