Hello all,

A total newbie to this but decided the time has come to get this sorted. I think I have charges from

Next

Egg

Morgan Stanley

Lloyds TSB

Barclays

Co-op

This came from when I was a student and got into debt and now want to get out of debt with help from the bank that helped me get into debt.

Who are the best to start with?

Thanks

Congrats

I would start with the banks are they are the easiest to get to grips with.

Saying that, send off your SAR to all of the companies you are going to claim from that way you that way you just have one 40 day period to count down not multiple 40 day periods... (gets confusing)

If you are making multiple claims, get a calander and a couple of cheap folder to keep everything organised.

I would recommend reading everything in the FAQ’s, they really are essential, when you think you have read everything go over it again just to be safe! I would also read all of the guides, step by step , money claim on line, etc It may never get to court but its better to know the process before you start.

When you have read everything and think you are ready, start a thread under Lloyds and Barclays. This way you can post your progress, ask questions and get help from people who know your banks tactics!

Once you have claimed from you banks you will have so much more confidence and will probably go for the rest of them in one go!:D

Good Luck

Thank you! One question, before I get started.

I am currently on a repayment plan with the CCCS and have spoken to them. they advised me to do this myself and not pay somebody to do it. Can you think of any reasons that already being on a debt repayment plan will affect my success? i am hoping that between all the banks I listed I have been charged enough to pay my debts off, which is quite likely.

Also I don't have a cheque book, can I send postal orders or do I just acknowledge that I know it costs £10?

Any ideas or tips please? Because I owe most of the banks etc money I am quite worried about doing this. However, have already told the CCCS that if I get money back I will send it straight to them to try and arrange early settlements. I read the FAQs including the part about IVA's but just wanted to double check.

Thanks

This would be my advice.

None whatsoever

Excellent. It is good to use the money for this purpose.

Also I don't have a cheque book, can I send postal orders or do I just acknowledge that I know it costs £10?

A postal order will do just fine.
