Hi All,

I had a £750 credit limit on a citicard and with charges added over and over at £50 a month it ended in about £1350.

I paid this off in one lump some last year and my question to everyone is:

Can i still apply for the charges to be refunded even though the account was paid off and they then closed it?? :???:

If so whats the best thing to do?? Any links will be appreciated

Hi Marky........... have a look in here:

Doesn't matter if the account is closed or that you paid everthing off............. at the end of the day, you was still charged unlawfully! Time to claim back!!!!!!!!! Good luck, hedgey xx

Can't find what you're looking for? Please have a look at Michael Browne's

Hi Marky,

I havn't been through it on credit cards as yet but to the best of my knowledge the principal is the same. (I hope so as MBNA had 2 accounts with me lol)

The fact the accounts are closed is of no consequence, as long as you have the account information you can request the charges details using the Subject Acces Request in the templates forum.

And welcome aboard.

There is a lot of information on this site so take your time and spend a couple of days reading as much as you can.

Here are a couple of links to get you started and I suggest you always keep them to hand.

When you are comfortable start a thread "XXXX v Bank Name here" in the relevant bank forum as then people with specific experience of this bank can offer support and advice.

There is a lot of information to take in here so if unsure it is always best to Ask first.

If you need a quick answer to a question you could always try the chatroom as there are usually some very helpful people in there.

Very best of luck

Any advise offered is my own opinion, and if in doubt, always seek clarification.
