Just new to forum not very good at navigating but need abit of advice cause sent the bank the letter dowloaded from moneysaving expert. The bank sent me six years statements and I isolated all the charges and sent them a request for their return. The bank has forwarded a letter telling me that I can only claim charges from credit card accounts and not my current account and that they feel that their charges are appropriate. My bank is the Alliance and Leicester and I now don't know how to proceed help!!!!!!:???:

Hello Elf, and welcome!

First of all take a look in here...

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/alliance-leicester/

This letter is complete hogwash. You can claim penalty charges whether on credit card, bank account, whatever.

Penalty charges are not appropriate, and you will get them all back!

Be prepared to have your account closed... A&L are well known for this, so open another account right away.

Please take a look at the links in my signature, read up as much as you can and you will have a better idea.

It is nice to have you on board... you are most welcome to post a new thread in the A&L forum to keep us posted as to your progress there.
