Hi James,

welcome to the forum!

you can only claim back 'penalty' charges, which are unlawful.

If they've charged you agreed 'service charges' (eg. a monthly fee for 'additions' account or whatever) then you have no right to claim these back.

BUT... lots of people seem to have been 'signed up' for additions accounts without their knowledge! This is very naughty of Barclays....

suggest you read the FAQ section, and lots of threads, if you're new to the forum, and get a good overall picture of what's going on!

Best of luck with your claim(s)!

James is this a business account or personal,

there are different guidelines for each one.

Personal you need to look out for the following:

UNAUTH O/D FEE

UNPAIDS OUT

PAID REFERRAL FEE.

These will range from £20 to the new £35.

Account Fees will prob refer to the Additions account if applied.

Hi Dolphin, welcome to CAG!:D

Sounds like they've sent you a standard 'brush-off' letter. My advice is not to take too much notice. Barclays sent me one of these ages ago, and they STILL haven't followed it up.

Do EXACTLY what you've told them you'll do, and when. YOU are in the driving seat here, not them!

If you're new, I'd suggest you spend lots of time looking through:

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/faqs-please-read-these/

where you'll find most things you need to know, then have a look at

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/halifax-if-successes/

for some morale-boosting success stories.

Then start your own thread, and keep us company!:D

Best of luck with your claim,

D.:D
