I have started the ball rolling with Barclays and recovering the charges applied to my account. I started this in February - the last day (yesterday) before i send a 'letter before action' I received a letter from Barclays advising that they are looking into the matter and will revert no later than 2nd May, nearly a month from now.

Has anyone else had this letter delaying things further? whats the best course of action? tell them that they have had enough time already, that they have received three reminder letters and a couple of phonecall chasers, and i expect the details within the next 7 days?

Or do I take them at their word (for what its worth) and wait until 2nd May when they may not even bother replying??

My personal feelings are that these are just delay tactics which have been employed hundreds of times over with other peoples claims.

If anyone has any advice it would be gratefuly received.

Cheers, baldie bloke.

G'Day Baldie,

This is pretty typical of all the banks and is an attempt to tey to dictate the timetable.

It is essential that you stick to the schedule you have outlined and issue your letters when you say you will, anything else may look like lack of confidence and committment.

There is a lot of information on this site so take your time and spend a couple of days reading as much as you can.

When you are comfortable start a thread "XXXX v Bank Name here" in the relevant bank forum as then people with specific experience of this bank can offer support and advice.

There is a lot of information to take in here so if unsure it is always best to Ask first.

If you need a quick answer to a question you could always try the chatroom as there are usually some very helpful people in there.

Very best of luck

Any advise offered is my own opinion, and if in doubt, always seek clarification.
