Hi All,

I would like to claim back the bank charges made to me.

I have a Halifax current account but also my mortgage is with the Halifax too.

If I claim and they close my current account that is fine by me. But, and this is a big but! Can they close my mortgage too i.e. they demand that I repay the mortgage amount in full or else my house gets repossessed?

Any help or advice from someone who has been in the same situation would be greatly appreciated!

Kind Regards,

Hi Tom,

Welcome to the forum.

Your mortgage is governed by an entirely separate contract and dealt with by a different department. Also there are strict rules laid down by statute governing repossession in mortgages. Unless you are in arrears with your mortgage they can not call it in.

Halifax are not too harsh on claimers.

Have a good read through the Halifax forum and start a thread when you are ready to make your claim.

Best of luck
