Good Morning, I am new to the forum.

I recently made a claim again the Abbey through the small claims court. This morning I have recieved a defence from them that they intend to defend the claim.

Is this usual for them to do this and then not turn up at the Court date? My understanding is that they rarely if ever contest the cases in person at Court? Am I correct.

I am concerned especially as I am only claiming back just under £600 when I have all my bank accounts, mortgage, insurance etc with them!

Welcome to the site.

Not only is it rare for Abbey to turn up in Court to defend...it is rare for ANY of the banks.

Yes of course they WILL submit a defence.

I advise you to have a read through some of the Abbey threads that are both ongoing...and also concluded.

You really do need to be clued up on the procedures especially at this stage.
