Hello People,

I dont know whether this is the right forum, or the right topic, apologies if so, anyway, I have recetly spiralled into a lot of debt, though Ive recognised this and contacted my creditors direct, mainly credit cards, and arranged a monthly repayment plan, though the MAJOR worry I have is with Royal Bank of Scotland. I have missed my loan payments with them, leading to arrears, and now I am receiving letters regarding defaulting the account, with some VERY VERY hard wording, i.e arressment of wages, baillifs, court proceedings, I have been coperative with them, answered all there letters phone calls, and offered a monthly figure to them. To sum up IM SCARED to the point where Im not sleeping, vry stressed been to the doctors. I dont know what to do, ofcourse I should have recognised whether I could make the payments to start with, but surely of the blame lies on the bank for offering if not throwing the mony at me, consolidation after consolidation after consolidation. Apologies if this was not the right forum. Thanks for reading:confused:

HI and welcome

Your right, its not really the right forum for debt counselling, however we will listen to your worries, and offfer advice where we can.

First of all it really is imprtant for you to complete an incme and expediture sheet which will clearly show (as long as your honest) what you afford to repay your debts. A great way of doing this is going to your local CAB who will guide, support and help you get in touch with all your creditors.

Its bad busienss at times when the banks throw more money after those who are faltering, however the ultimate responsibility lies with the person....after all they dont force you to sign for the loans!! You need to (and i think you have) realise your responsibilities and start paying these debts off...and you can do it without going to companies who charge you, promise to cut your debts in half and get you debt free. This must be the last resort. You can do it with the support (FREE!!!!) from CAB.

Maybe this is not what you wanted to hear, but i certainly hope it helps.

I will move your post to the correct place for your case, and re-title it.

Are you currently claiming any penalty charges against this account ?

If so they are obliged to hold off further recovery of monies until it is sorted out.

Are the letters coming from Credit management services in Telford/Birmingham or from head office ?
