HI Joetay,

I am helping my son and daughter with their claims against Abbey, they are both at the same stage as you. Son's Prelim letter was received by Abbey on the 02nd April, so they have 14 days from that date to respond ( I am sure that response will not be favourable though) but we are now counting the days before next letter goes off.

Daughters prelim letter is going off tomorrow...........

Good luck with your claim, let us know how you get on , we will do same.:)

Hello Joe & Babynan

Its not luck that you need, its patience, and plenty of it!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Your claims just take time, but what you do know is that you'll get back what is rightfully yours in the end! Just think of the amount you are claiming as a little savings account you've forgotten about!

Keep up the good work, and don't let 'em grind you down!

Phil:)

This is only my personal, honest opinion!

Thanks philread, no worries I will get my charges back even though I'm an impatient so and so.

I recieved the standard response this morning 'we are currently looking into your complaint...will investigate and respond within 40 days blah blah' along with a complaints leaflet. I will wait until the 14 days are up (14th) and then send my leter before action as I told them I would in my initial request. I will also be sending this by recorded delivery to Abbey head office with a copy to Pam Speed at Bradford as this seems to have prompted some kind of response pretty quickly.

Is anyone else doing this or are you all sending to Head office?

PS to anyone new reading this who is not aware.. I did not send the letter to Pam Speed by recorded delievery as the address I had was a PO Box which I believe you cannot use recorded delivery to.

Babynan, you had any response yet?

Hello Joe

I would'nt bother sending any copies from now on to Pam Speed, she just seems to deal with microfiche problems and info requests.

All your corrspondence should now be direct to their head office at Triton Square (Prelim, LBA & Moneyclaim Online), that's what I did. I assume you have that address?

Sending recorded delivery letters to a PO Box address should'nt be a problem, all my correspondence was sent using recorded delivery and a few of them were to PO Box addresses.

Hope this helps!

Phil:)

PS As you are probably aware, make sure you stick to YOUR timetable, not THEIRS!!!!

Hi Joetay,

Yes we had a reply, and guess what it's the same standard letter/leaflets as yours,:p so we are waiting for the 14th day and then will send the LBA.

We did send our Prelim to Pam Speed at the Bradford address but the reply came from ' The Banking Specialist Team" Milton Keynes.

Hi Phil, just wanted to check, regarding the adresses, although I sent prelim to Bradford, would it be ok to use the Triton Sq , address for LBA or should I stick to the same address we used for the Prelim?:-?

Hello Babynan

No, it does'nt matter, even though you sent your prelim to Pam Speed, I would still send your LBA and future correspondence to their head office. It gives them very little excuse then that your letters got lost in their internal mailing system!!!!!;)
