I have just recieved some of my statements on day 40 after I sent my DPA request. 13 of them are missing (pointed out on the covering letter). I am sure there were charges on a few of them. Is there anything I can do about this?

GE Money are very difficult to get hold of. I got a call yesterday morning on my mobile asking if all I wanted was the statements. I said yes. They did not tell me they were incomplete. (out of interest the only way they could of got that number was from me emailing [email protected] and [email protected] as I did not put it on my DPA. They did not reply to the emails!)

Also how do I calculate the 29.9% interest on the ones I do have? Should I ask for the interest up to when the account went into default and closed in summer 2005 or up to the present?

Confused?

If it's after 40 days they may have breached the DPA and you can report them. Try calling and letting them know that you intend to do this, and also that you will be pursuing DPA compliance through the courts - it should focus their minds. Have a read through this: Suzy H v GE Capital

They don't issue statements when there is a balance of zero - it might be worth calling them and seeing if this is the case with you.

I used this http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general/51736-excel-contractual-interest-spreadsheet.html?highlight=mindzai#post421046 to calculate interest. Hope this helps.

G E Money have come back to my husband saying that they do not have copy statements on file for 2003 - 2005 so don't be surprised if they come back to you with the same reply.

I am just going to estimate charges and they will have to prove me wrong which will be a little difficult if they don't have the statements.
