Hi, I'm new here. I have a little problem with a few companies. Late 2005 I was pounced upon by one of those SKY guys with their flashy vans with TV whilst shopping. He told me all about SKY and convinced me to sign up to their £15 a month SKY deal. I signed up the form, and when he asked me if I had a landline, I said no. He said, oh, thats ok, we can sort out a free landline for you. I took him at his word.

It was all installed and everything, and I had SKY. But I recieved bills from not just sky, but talk talk and BT. There seemed to be nothing free about this landline. I made sure there was enough for the DD for sky and nothing else, since I signed no DD agreement with anyone else. Nonetheless, DD did try to go out to both TT and BT. I phoned neither. Stupidly, I didn't cancel the DD's and the next month, money wasnt in the account to pay them, not only did they not recieved my Money, HSBC closed my bank account for not complying with the ToC. I think HSBC were in the wrong as well, although it was only a basic bank account, they did not give me a 30 notice, or any correspondance whatsoever, just my card got swallowed on a friday night. Very inconvienient. Talked to some bloke in india, who told me to go to the branch. Furious.

Anyway, I know I still apparantly owe these people money, but I signed no contract with either TT or BT, and SKY should have let me know of any charges for the Landline, since they needed me to have it to get sky.

What should I send to BT and TT in reguards to the Contract? And the DD agreement, which i knew nothing about?

As for sky, signing me up for a landline, without having me sign anything is extremely dubious.

Any suggestions?

Hi

I would send them all a letter requesting a copy of your SIGNED agreement with them. This should start the ball rolling. Make sure that the form you signed with Sky doesnt have any small print with regards to the landline etc.

Good Luck and keep us posted.
