hi there

I'm just looking into this as ATM got enough with bank stuff, but looking back on m records they charged me 6,300 ERC help with costs 1,000 product fee 695 and mortgage review fee 295 total 9,168.06 (I know I cant claim the the review or product fee). It's staggering no wonder my mortage has jumped up! Woukd this be the sort of claim you can pursue? i'm tied in for another year do I wait and then claim or look intomoving mortgages now? (my credit ratings rather rubbish though)

Any thoughts are welcome

hi there

I'm still with northern rock it was ERC from swapping my deal, does this still count? I was on a really really low rate 2.9 or something and when the deal ended after 2 years ( thought i'd be better off by then........... ) I had to swap deal because the rate was higher and the payments were over 600  NO way could I afford that so I changed deal so its now 480 so I was charged a whopper for swapping deals, don't think i've got any late payemnts though  , will check but unlikey

Hi Rivig,

There is a way of challenging the charge based on applying an ERC where there exists a variable interest rate. However, as the charge is over 5K the risks would be too great should you lose.

Have you signed the petition against ERCs?

Best wishes Zoot
