I purchased the above vehicle from Carcraft Sheffield 8 months ago and also took out a five year extended warranty which I was tols covered both parts and labour charges. 1 week ago my wife told me that she suspected that there was something wrong with the clutch. I road tested it and found that it was slipping and also suffered a slight judder on take up. I had driven the car a few days earlier and at that time the fault was not apparent. I contacted the NAC warranty service and was told to take the car in for inspection, I was also informed that an independent inspector would attend to examine the clutch as if the fault was deemed to be wear & rear the warranty would not cover the cost of repair. When the gear box was subsequently removed and the clutch exposed, although the clutch plate was worn, closer examination also revealed that the flywheel was cracked. When the inspector examined the defective parts he later contacted the garage and said that the failure was down to wear & tear and that I would not be covered by the warranty. I dispute this as the problem did not appear over a period of time but very quickly and I suspect that the cracked flywheel actually caused the clutch to wear out with use. I have also researched this problem on the internet and found that this particular model (V6 2.7)has a long history of clutch problems. I would appreciate any advice on this matter. Thank you
