After reading the discussion forums over the last week, I went through my statements with First Direct and noticed I had Overdraft and Excess Overdraft fees which totalled 894 pounds. I had to admit I didn't realise they had taken so much from me.

I sent off the initial letter last Wednesday(21st March) with a photocopy of my statements showing the charges. I sent this recorded delivery but have just looked on the royalmail tracker service to see if has been signed for and it says no information is currently available.

I phoned the royalmail today and they said it was delivered on the 22 March.

Will see if anything pops through my letterbox over the next few days otherwise I feel another letter LBA being sent after 14 days

Stick to your own timeline mate. If you don't get an offer you are happy with go ahead with your LBA, and take from there.

I'm awaiting a court date, so depending on how they behave you may have to be veerrrrryyy patient.

Good luck

Hi IrishRover - Ditto what Dubliner says -stick to your timetable - you'll get your money - as will Dubliner. Good luck with your claim.

Claim against First Direct - WON - 29th March 2007

Well Well Well.....

I received my reply from FD this morning and got the standard reply letter.

They did point out that I had claimed for £894 pounds which should have been £874. I doubled checked my original figures and FD were right it should have been £874.

They have offered my a settlement of £740 pounds which is nearly 85% of the total I am claiming

Although the difference is only just over £100 I will probably reject this and go for the whole amount.

I have to admit I am surprised how quickly they have responded since they only received the letter on the 22nd March.
