A CCA is a request for a Consumer Credit Agreement (under The Consumer Credit Act, 1974. Thus us usually sent to a debt collection agency (DCA) in order to determine if they have the legal right to pursue you for payments.

A SAR is a Subject Access Reqest (under the Data Protection Act, 1988). This is a request for all transactional data that a company has on you. It is normally sent to the original creditor (banks, etc), but can also be sent to a DCA if they come up with a CCA.

The reason for requesting a SAR is normally to see how much a debt can be reduced by re-claiming unlawful charges that have been applied to the account.... sometimes before it is passed/sold to a DCA by the original creditor.

I am not sure what you mean by RS...

I would like to suggest a "dictionary" of all regular acronyms used on this site, I'm sure it'd help people? When I first joined I struggled with some of them... I think I've got most of them now, but I believe it'd help people out?
