Hi to all,

I cant put this off any longer, I've absorbed about as much as I'm going to at present, there's nothing more to do now than to dive in......

I must add that if I hadn't come across this forum, with all the brilliant advice to be had, and the support everyone in general, I think I may have either ended up as a very tentative starter on this journey, and most certainly would have faulted at the first sign of muscle flexing done by my bank. Its by reading the case studies of everyone before, and the knowledgable constructive advise from those of you in the "know" about theses dealings, I feel quite empowered and rearing to take back whats rightfully mine, and what has caused a great deal of misery to my family over the last 10 or so years...........

Watch this space I will report back .......

Georgi;)

HI Georgi

I think many of us will be reading your opening post and nodding, knowing exactly how reluctant and resigned you felt before signing up for this site - it's a massive boost to courage and optomism isn't it!

Start a thread like CTA v Woolwich so you can keep us updated on each step of your claim.

Nice to see you albeit virtual! :)

Back to important issues, I ned to ask what is probably a really stupid question, but is the Data Controller for the Woolwich the Data Controller for Barclays and is that who I send my DPA to?

Once again, terrific site and helpful people Thank you

Yes, for your Woolwich claim, you send to Barclays Data Protection.

I sent mine to Peter Townsend as it's always nice to have your letter addressed to a certain person so that they have to accept responsibility for where it goes next!

Just use one of the template letters for the basic SAR request. If you're having problems getting a parachute account because of poor credit or unemployed etc, have you tried going online to Alliance & Leicester? You just need to have £500 going in each calendar month (and it doesn't have to be wages, it can be benefits, they don't require you to specify). You get a visa debit/cheque guarantee/cashcard card, cheques book and online/tele/branch banking which is also linked to the post office so you can bank through your local post office counter. You can apply online and they normally email you within 24 hrs with a yes or no.

I don't work for them lol, but I got my parachute with them recently. Also if you have really bad credit, I think you can still get a basic account with places like the Co-Op but obviously just a bank account with a cash card.

If you get at all worried about which letter to send, where to send, PM me and I'll send you my letters for you to copy and paste into Word.

  • 1 month later...

Hi,

I hope you dont mind me taking you up on your previous offer of help, as I am in a quandry as to my next move with the Woolwich.

I sent off 3 x SAR requests by recorded post to Woolwich, HSBC, and Barclays on April 10th.

I received a acknowledgement reply from Woolwich on 13th, then amore detailed reply on May 14th.

In it they included a 2 page list of charges incurred on my now current account, but on another page showed just one entry for my previous current account which was closed a few years back,( I'm not actually certain of the date. )

Following on from that was a final page cwhich consists of an offer in Full and Final settlement and quotes both my upto date and closed account numbers as the reference for the offer.

The offer made by the way does not even cover the list for the current account charges let alone adding on any owing from the pnow closed account.

Im not sure therefore which action to take. Do I send a Data Protection Non complience letter for the info I feel they have neglected to include, or do I send a letter rejecting their offer but accepting it as part payment and requesting at the same time the Full details as per my SAR.

I dont want to get it wrong and give them any excuses or let outs.

any advise I would be very gratefull

regards

Georgi
