Hi All

I have a £1500 overdraft which a few months ago Yorkshire Bank tried to take away from me. They said that I needed to put in a regular payment each month. What they omitted to comment about was that I never put any money in for three months because it had 2-3,000 in the account which was happily reducing as DD etc were being paid. I have a seperate Bank Account with another bank which is ok and no overdraft and I get paid into. I sent YB a snotty letter and paid money in to 'service' my overdraft and have been doing ok for a couple of months.

I noticed that I am just over my overdraft limit and YB have bounced 3 DDs and charged me over £100 for the privelage + they will charge my account a daily fee.

I tried to pay money in today Saturday but they are closed.

I would like to issue them with the letters on this site to get my money back but am worried in case they pull my overdraft - after all an overdraft is at their discretion and can be terminated as they see fit - or can they? Anyone help me here - if I go back 6 years I could get quite a lot of money back

thanks

You might need to do a bit of hunting round the forums for this, but I think I have seen something from Bank Fodder about telling them that you are disputing the charges, and that they can't do anything while the account is in dispute.

I am sure someone more knowledgable than me can help more, but obviously you would need to be comfortable with following this track. I take it your current bank won't help with the overdraft situation.
