Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to this but I've read through the FAQ section and think I'm ready to go! I sent off the request of bank charges to the halifax on the 21st of Febuary...... havent received any aknowledgement from Halifax yet though but I've checked my statement on line and they banked the cheque on the 1st so I suppose its just a matter of time!

I'm really looking forward to this but am also quite nervous!! Any guidance will be much appreciated. I think I've been quite bad over the years so I think its gonna be a biggy!! With a bit of luck I'll get if not all then most of it back, It would be lovely to pay my holiday off and have a nice chunk of spending money to take away with me.....Florida here I come!!

Hi knight 666

Welcome and good luck!!!

It's only natural that you're feeling a little nervous, but stick with the tried and tested formula on the site and you won't go wrong!

Whilst waiting for your statements, spend as much time as you can reading up on cases in the halifax forum (Have a read of mine, I was successfull against the Halifax earlier in the year :D )

It's almost like finding a savings account you never knew you had!!!!

You'll find the help and advice here amazing and you've only to post if you've a question and someone will get back to you.

Halifax do seem to be one of the better ones when it comes to paying back before court stage. However, if the person dealing with you claim isn't "playing ball", you may end up having to issue court papers. If that happens, then at least you can claim back your "little xtra" in the form of the 8% interest from Howard Halifax!!!

Good luck and best wishes.

Halifax - £2281, successfully refunded all charges after LBA letter & telephone call.

Have been offered the difference between the £20 and £12 charges from Capital One -- am sending LBA for remainder.

GE Money - Received settlement of £441, being total charges requested. No interest though.

CCA'd Bank of Scotland / Blair Oliver Scott to produce CCA Agreements on two Credit Cards - well in default, although still chasing payment!!!

EOS Solutions "ceased action on account" on behalf of a friend.

All in all, quite busy at the moment and enjoying every minute of it
