I wonder if someone could offer some help. Is it correct that the fee of £12 on your credit card is now allowed? I was of the understanding it wasnt, but I did look on the page of OFT and it looks right?

I suppose Im really just asking can I claim all my money back, or do you have to take these £12 charges into consideration?

No, the OFT have set a recomended limit of £12.

You can still claim for the charges because it doesnt cost the banks £12.

Claim for everything

Have a read of the FAQs in my signature below and good luck

What I also wondered was, as some of the charges are not as great as the amount of money outstanding on the cards, they have said it could be closed when you claim? Which leaves a slight problem paying off the remainder! Can they do this, and more to the point DO they tend to do this?

This depends on who your card is with.

I take it that it is with Halifax or BOS as this is where your thread is.

Have a look through other peoples threads and see what their experiences are?

All comaonies are different and all do things there own way.

hello. after succesfully reclaiming an amount of money from halifax card services last year they then barred the account. i.e. there is still an outstanding balance for me to pay off the card but i do not have a valid card nor will they issue me with one. i just have to continue to make the monthly payments untill the balance is £0, whereby halifax will close the account completely. So, yes, they do restrict the accounts; at least in my case.

Does anyone know if this action is appealable???
