OK, bit behind schedule as since first successful claim have been spreading the word and helping out several friends start their battles with the banks

But prelim for charges accumulated between court claim at beginning of year and settlement will be posted today.

Just hope Halifax don't get serious about closing my account with this second claim - I did open a parachute account first time, but really don't want to say goodbye to a 25-year-old account - probably the best thing I have going on my credit record!

they are more inclined to close your account the second time around.

Didn't get to post letter until the next day (I joined the Post Office queue on the 5th, but didn't get to the counter until the next day ).

But pretty amazed to have a response so quickly - even if it is the usual 'sorry to learn you're unhappy...' 'we'll respond somewhen this century...' blah. Didn't get a repsonse first time around until after the LBA.

But still only gives them until Thursday to give me an offer.

I was told they would not close accounts but would possibly take away cheque book etc!!!

Just had letter through door.

'Dear Miss Didge,

Sorry you're unhappy...but pleased I may be able to help...arranging for a payment of £176 to be made in full and final settlement...gesture of goodwill...without admission of liability...do nothing and the payment will be made in the next 14 days...please read the enclosed leaflet on bank charges...'

100% offer.

No struggle.

No threats of closure.

i am on my second cleim with Halifax

 

i submitted my moneclaim on friday (my claim is olny £189)

 

they have said on previous corry that they wont pay and if i am unhappy about the charges i should close my account

 

have they closed you account??

No threat of closure and certainly no announcement of closure.

Didn't get to court stage with this claim.

Just as I was thinking about getting my N1 ready I had the letter offering full repayment of charges as gesture of goodwill and without liability.

There's just no set way they are dealing with cases, but Good Luck with yours.
