I have just recently changed my mortgage in Oct 06 just two months from the 3year mark. I was charged the Full 3% value of the Capital for exiting the mortgage early. I was also over charged on the Exiting Fee and £279.60 (£55.92for every day that the redemption fee was not closed). I have wrote to them about the over charge for Exiting Fee and have been offered the difference. However I still feel that the 3% or £8995.74 was still unfair as I had two months left from the fee being 0. And the for the redemption fee not being closed on the date given surely that would have been between the solicitor and Birmingham Midshires. Please can someone shed some light on how to claim a % back.

Hiyas,

I think your best bet is to head over to the "Other Institutions - Mortgage Companies" part of the forum. Do read Zootscoot's advice carefully before taking any action.
