Yes - at the end of the day they should know what they have charged you. Just make a note that the figure has been revised after recalculation.

You need to keep your claim to below the 5k threshold to keep it in small claims...you might have to split it into 2 chunks

Regarding the 8% use the Excel spreadsheet in the library and the 8% will be worked out for you...

Do you have excel on your computer? If yes, then download another copy. There is a free alternative to excel if you don't have excel

You don't add the interest on until you put the claim in with the courts!

Leave it out of all the letters.

You may have deleated the formula. Download another and start again, but remember to remove the lines you don't use as it will add them on to your total.

its okay...

Now its up to you what to do with the claim.

You could try for the whole lot, but this would include risks of the defendants costs.

Alternatively you can sever the claim in 2, say £4900 and then the rest afterwards.

Or you can just leave off anything over the £5000 limit.

Im not sure what is your best approach maybe someone can give some clearer advice?

If it is between £5k and £10k the costs are limited to £500 - and of course that would only come into effect if you were to lose.
