I have recently found a new house to move into, i got all the application forms from the estate agent, and after reading through one line of it said, that you must have insurance to prevent loss to the landlord. I thought that was what the bond is for? on the form it says

Would you like us to get a quote for you

OR

Own insurance certificate number

Does anyone no if this has to be done, because i have rented for many years and this is the first time i have been told that i had to have insurance????

Thanks

If it's one of their terms then yes I would say it does. The house we've applied for required the same, I organised my own policy as it was cheaper than the agents and a better policy.
