Hi,

I have only just registered here but pop in often to read others stories.

I have decided to start my battle with the Halicrap.

My request letter for my statments will be going in the post tomorrow.

I have a few questions...

1) Can I put £10 cash in the envolope or a cheque?

2) Is a "proof of delivery" good enough or should it be "recorded delivery"?

Wish me luck!

Thanks:)

Hi Noclue

Don't know if this helps but I just range the 08457203040 number and they sent me them through the post without having to request in writing. They charged me £5 which they took straight out my account and I received them within 6 days. I sent my pre lim 26 jan, my LBA 16 feb and have just settled today over phone (2 days before due to issue court proceedings) for full £1933 of charges and £250.00 toward interest we would have claimed.

Good luck!

Hi, I have just phoned the above number to order my last 6 years bank statements and they have charged me £5 and said they will arrive within 21 working days. Thanks for that you saved me £5 and hopefully they will arrive quicker than if I'd written to the Halifax.

So if noclue is the iron, that paves the way for me to be the Top Hat???! I'm ALWAYS the Top Hat! I had a letter in response to my Prelim telling me they'll sort it in 4 weeks...no you won't!! Is that like me refusing to buy the water works?

I am still waiting for my statments (but hay, its only been 5 days)

Just to pass the time I thought I'd go through my online statments.

I have 41 (5 missing) the total charges on them (going back almost 2 years) = £1300!

I knew that I had messed up a few times but... Feck me!

I was worse when I was younger, so the other four years should be interesting to say the least! (based on £650 per year = £3900) You would not belive how much the money would help me! (I have just bought a new house and need about 4k to finnish it.)

I know what you mean, i can remember they put charges upon charges etc when i was between jobs and all my dd's and cheques bounced, in 3 months the charges were up to £690 so mine should be interesting too, i even think they may top the £5k mark.

Just a quick question...

Does the £10 cheque have to come out of the account you are clamming on?

The cheque I sent was from my wifes account (not halifax) as I was skint.

Do you think this could delay things?

Thanks
