I get charged £39.00 by the Halifax each time there are insufficient funds in my account to pay direct debits. In less then 2 months they have taken nearly £700 out of my account for this reason. What I would like to know is how much of the £39.00 fee can I try and reclaim back...is it the whole amount plus interest - or a portion of it plus interest. Once I know this - I will then start the ball rolling to get some monies back from this bank and the Nationwide and will hopefully then get myself out of the debt situation they are plunging me further into. Any advice would be helpful - thank you
