Hi,

Well sent my claim to FD today and decided to add my current bankers to the list to! DPA sent for full six years of charges.

Guess I may need to set another bank account up in reserve.....!

Will keep you posted.

(updated) - I have managed to pull the six years of statements from the HSBC website, should I still send the DPA request? I have a good idea of the charges but wondered if it is better to receive more info from HSBC verus just 'totalling up' the charge columns on the statements?

Any tips welcome, will record delivery the letter Friday AM, total amount of charges is £1,286.

Don't think the DPA is really necessary if you know what your charges are. The only thing it may tell you is if there are any manual interventions on your account. However, I don't believe that any of the banks have provided this information as yet anyway. If it were ever to reach a court they would need to provide this to you in advance if they intended to adduce it as evidence.

In short, IMHO I don't believe that the DPA is necessary in your case at all.

I would send them the first letter asking for your money back.

Id say fire off the Prelim! If you know your charges why wait another 40 days?

The only downside is that you wont know what maunal intervention has gone on on your account, but then most of us can say that there is no manual intervention in the 1st place!

Good Luck

Are you stalking me Lou ? This is the second thread I've posted in that you've posted pretty much the same advice as mine 10-15 minutes after me...
