Problems Canceling SKY!!!!!

Hi, my financial position is such that I had to cancel sky with £33 owing

 

Rang cancellations they said you cant cancel,,, amount outstanding, will move you down to lowest monthly charge.

 

Consequently OS amount is growing, cant pay full amount

 

What to do?????

I assume that you are signed up for a set contract period? If this is the case then that contract period is legally binding. If you were to cancel now, you would be liable for the outstanding amount and they would have to join your list of creditors if you cannot pay.

 

Check your terms and conditions to see how long your contract is for.

They lied to you.

 

I suggest you write and tell them you cancelled on the date of the call. Tell them how much you think you owe them, and offer them a payment proposal. Whether they accept the proposal or not, make the payments you proposed.

This makes me so cross, i have had a part reply to my S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) from telewest and it states there i have rang 3 times and wanted to leave and on each occasion i was told not possible to alter services with a balance owing.

 

This is nonsense, you write a letter advising you are canceling with 30 days notice, they are not allowed to bill you after this date.

 

I also noticed in my notes that when i had a querie certain irregularities they were quick enough to point me to terms and conditions, but when i wanted to cancel they failed to point me to the cancelation section of the terms and conditions

 

Telewest and Sky both seem to use this excuse.

 

Tell them to sod off.

By the way del point out to sky that in the contract regarding cancellation there is no paragragh stating that you cannot cancel with an outstanding balance.....email [email protected] i'll try and find the customer care dept email brb

i had few problems with sky and the guy sorted it out for me very quickly. He is quite high up, so he will get someone to deal with your problem. Don't bother emailing the customer as it takes them 7 days to reply back to you each time.

Hmmm, might drop him a line myself, I have found getting responses from them in writing to my complaint regarding lies they told me on the phone is very hard ...... unless you owe them money in which case you get a letter every other day !!

 

"Customer Care" doesn't seem too high on their list !!

I have to say that after taking matters in a certain direction, not a direction on this thread I might add, SKY have performed admirably (if thats how you spell it !!) and I am more than happy.
