Hello All

Firstly I'd like to say how chuffed I am to find this site. Pleased to know there are so many people out there in my situation who are here to helP.

I've read lots of really good information on where to begin with getting back the ridiculous amount of charges incurred by HSBC over the last few years amounting to £600 approx.

My main concern is I'm in debt up to my eyeballs now due to these charges with both a normal bank account and a credit card account (both with HSBC) and a couple of threads I have read are scaring me.

Can anyone please tell me more about HSBC 'potentially' paying out but then closing my account. This is obviously very worrying as I'm sure I would struggle getting another plus I also have a loan with them, and have read of another user who had account closed and hmay have to pay it back in full.

What is the likelyhood? and do I have a leg to stand on to 'defend' this if they do?

I really want to pursue this but am so worried I could end up regretting it.

Please Help?

Thanks

Welcome to the site.

All claimants are advised to set up a parachute account.

There is no evidence to suggest that HSBC are operating this policy widescale and this is a matter of individual circumstances.Have a look at some threads in the HSBC bank section. You should not let this prospect affect your decision to make a claim though at the end of the day this is YOUR decision.

Hi KealeyKeel

I'm new to this as well and also dealing with HSBC. I have been fighting against HSBC charges for years and never had much success, like you I have found sites like these amazing in clearing the fog that surrounds reclaiming bank charges. I am also one of the success stories. I received a payment of £850 no strings attached from HSBC early January for my wife’s account. I then received an offer on my account for £3200 no strings attached which I declined. HSBC seem to follow the line of. It will cost them more in time to process your claim than to make you an offer, and seem to prefer settling smaller claims at the earliest moment. Hang in be tough and make sure you get back what you are entitled too. Most of all BE BRAVE! Every case is different but there are people all over the country getting money back!
