i just got a debt collecter letter on behalf of c. one and £229 pounds of the debt is charges, the debt is 5 years old can i still get them to take the charges off , i only paid one payment to them, and it was one day late and then they put £70 of charges on in the first week and then it just esculated from then to £229 ontop of £200 , i also have no statments any more to send to them to prove this, can i ask them for them?

 

please help!!!! anybody

Hello.

 

You need to send an S.A.R.(Subject Access Request) to Cap one for all of the Data they hold on you. You would need to put a £10 cheque or postal order in to cover the cost of retrieval of your statements and information. If you call them, you may get them for free. Ask for 6 years worth of statements.Once you have the statements, add up your charges and write to them asking for it back, with Contractual Compounded interest.
