Hello and welcome to the Consumer Action Group!

There are a few things that you must do before sending letters off left right and centre. By following the steps correctly you save yourself and others a lot of work!

  • Read the FAQs. Print them out and take 2 -3 days to understand what it is you are about to do…..you wouldn’t just jump into a lake for a swim unless you knew how to swim, would you??
  • Understand the process. Don’t try to start halfway through, it won’t work. Its time consuming but at least you won’t be making any mistakes in getting your money back!
  • Read through the relevant forum for your bank claim. Here you will find others journeys, celebrations and queries, most of which will help you in your claim.
  • Start a thread in your forum, and keep it in your favourites so you can find it easier. Call it your name v bank name for example. Here you can log your own journey, ask questions and most of all offer another thread for a newer person to read (see you are giving something back already)
  • It’s your claim; you have to do the work! Its not easy, can be very frustrating and at times you will feel like throwing the towel and letting them get away. But keep on going, seek advice from mods / site helpers/ or anyone else who is on the forum, great place for this is the chat room, try it out!

Good luck

Further to that, I sent it to "The Data Controller, LTSB, 25 Gresham St, etc... That is the address shown on the Infornmation Commisioners website. I don't know how I missed the page of addresses shown here! Doh! Still, it should have been delivered!

Thanks barty. I pre-empted your response and have drafted prelim. will despatch registered tonite to :

Customer Care, Lloyds TSB, 125 Colmore Row, Birmingham B3 3SF

fingers x'd!

I phoned Berryman this morning as it was she to whom I addressed my Data Request. She thought it was quite funny as she definitely had a giggle in her voice when she suggested I'd got the letter from one of the many templates on the internet. She even wished me luck. Sarcastic!!!

Just a thought (if somebody would like to confirm my belief!)...

The acknowledgement states the defendant has 28 days from the date of service of the claim to file a defence. In my mind that means they have 28 days from the 19th April to provide bothh the court, and me with the details they will rely on. I'm unsure what to do if they fail to submit in 28 days. Do I write to SC and M or just go for judgement? I am reading the threads but just need a little bit of support! Thanks in advance!

Hi

If they don't submit a defence by the time they should, give them a few extra days, then come back on and tell us, don't just go for the judgement button straight away.

Barty:)

I WON!!!! :D :D :D
