Hi

came accross the site while reading money saving expert.com. I started my claim through that site and have since been getting advise on here.

My claim is at the stage where they have nine days till I file a claim with the court, The amount they owe me is £2162,00. I have today recived a settlement offer of £1587,00 which I was very tempted to accept but with a little help from some very nice people on here I have decided to move on for the full claim.

I am myself quite scared and find it daunting but with help & support from the many people on here I hope to be as successful as many others.

Good Luck All!!

Hi tatter

Don't worry about a thing. I have already done the Halifax and it was like taking candy from a baby. They really do not like anyone questioning their 'authority', so just enjoy the experience... i have never smiled so much as i have since joining the group..

Well done for getting this far, just play it cool.

I just had a light bulb moment while having a shave!

Is it correct that I could only claim 6 yrs from the date I started the process? If so then Im up on what I should have claimed for I think.

I started on december 14 2006 so I should only go back to december 14 2000 so charges I claimed before that date were not within the 6 yrs.

my total claim was for £2162.00 but settled for £2000.00 (162.00 down).

The amount I should not have been able to claim came to £275.00 which means in a way Halifax have paid me £113.00 intrest!!!

Am I correct with this or still in euphoria?

CONGRATULATIONS Tatter,

On the point of can you claim more than six years, There are some test cases due soon. But reading through this site the 1980 law deems that the banks are at fault and therefore have taken our money illegally so I for one am going now to try and get charges back to 1980. I have already had all costs paid back by the Halifax for six years and Alliance and leicester for last two years. So lets go for it keep them on the run. Then hit um when they are down!
