I have 2 accounts with the halifax, a cardcash basic account and a current account.

I sent off SAR on 18/12. I received a letter back re one account the next day stating that I had omitted to include the £10 fee and they only charged £5. I sent the correct fee the next day.

A few days later I received a letter relating to the other account that they were waiving the SAR fee due to 'the circumstances' (cheers!)

On the 30/12 I received a letter from Halifax head office returning my £5.00 cheque and requesting that I send the correct fee of £10.00.

After my night shift on Monday I telephoned and left a message and they were supposed to return the call today. Surprise they didn't.

Maybe you should just send the £10 cheque and get the ball rolling, You claim it back at the later stage. I think most people had to pay £10, i did. :)
