Still waiting for the money to arrive in my Abbey account. I have had the settlement letter from DLA and to day is 10 days from agreeing a settlement. I will phone the bank again tomorrow and will be onto Alison Burton if I dont have any joy.

As regards a question that was posed a couple of posts ago - I spoke to the Abbey regarding access to the account as I decided to have the money paid straight to there rather than waiting for a chaeque and then waiting ofr it to clear. I was told that the account is still active but the only way I will be able to access it is through the branch. As soon as the money is paid in then that will clear the £1k overdrawn balance and the rest is mine and will be drawn over the counter in cash (because I like to be awkward) and transferred to my Nat West account. They can then have my cards etc and close the account.

edit....

drawn over the counter in cash (because I like to be awkward) and transferred....

I don't know what the cash limit is, but I suspect that more than a few hundred might need to be "pre-ordered".

Abbey - Won DPA Claim - Aug 06 and got bailiffs in to recover my court costs of just £30.00

Abbey - Won Charges Refund of £1050 - Nov 06

Egg - Recovered £220 due to Customer Services misinformation - Feb 2007

Nat West - Prelinimary Letter to recover on Credit Card charges £30.00 sent March 2006. £25.40 offered - rejected and the bank reckons that this is it's last word on the matter. We'll see if that's still the case when it reads my N1 form sent recently. It has until the 17th April to respond or the N1 will be submitted.

I am expecting to have to speak to the bank before I go in and get the cash. It will a pleasure to accept the cash and then hand over my card and tell them to close the account.

Still no payment today, and today is 10 working days from agreement being reached. Alison Burton is out of the office and I have been speaking to Paul Denham this afternoon. Have phoned them to chase up payment but been stonewalled basically.

Will be phoning him again in a mo, he says he has passed it on to a colleague who was on the phone when I asked to be put through to him.

I have told him that if I do not receive the money in my account by the end of today I will be withdrawing my offer as "full settlement" and will be proceeding with my claim for the full amount (about another £500-600).

Am a bit stressed and quite a bit annoyed.

Have issued ultimatum through DLA and guess what?

10 minutes later, a phone call to say that a cheque has been paid into my account.

But

A CHEQUE???????

Abbey paying an Abbey customer some money and they pay by CHEQUE rather than a direct transfer grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Anyway, money will be available once the cheque has cleared on Thursday :D
