Hi there

Found this site by accident after looking up a company called ECI chasing me for and old (alleged) Barclaycard debt. They were really rude and pushy and when I asked if they could send me some evidence of the debt, they told me it was up to to prove I didn't owe it! I have written to them today advising them that even if I do owe this money, by now it would be statute barred anyway. Let's see what happens.

Am sooooooo glad i have found this site though, as I am going to collar Halifax and Llloyds TSB for the money they ahve made from me over the years. I'm also going to have a bash at my Halifax Credit Card too. I run a small business and getting some of the ridiculous charges back would be very welcome!

Welcome to the site.

Yake some preparation time to read up on the procedures.

If you will be claiming for business penalty charges too....observe the differences in approaching and putting together a claim for those.:)

Evenafter sending a letter stating the debt was statute barred, I received phone calls and two letters from ECI. I emailed Scott Soutar, berating him for the lack of training his staff have and threatening him with the OFT.

I have (finally) had a letter from ECI stating that they accept the alleged debt is statute barred and have "referred the matter back to their client". Has anyone had this ahppen before - what is likely to happen from their client? I really want the matter resolved, not to ahve another company contact me again in the future and go through the whole rigmarole again.

Thanks
