getting your summary of previous charges from hsbc

can you go into your branch and get this or do you need to send a letter enclosing £10 to the credit controller?

 

and if so what is the address and who do do i address it to?

Hi Fiddler.

Haven't you been reading the FAQs etc?

 

If you go into your branch and request the info, they cannot supply it themselves.

You need to send the Data Protection Act SARs letter from the templates library. don't forget to enclose the £10 fee. They then have 40 days in which to comply with your request.

Keep copies of all letters sent and received. They are your proof of what each side has said.

Send it recorded delivery to your own branch. They will forward it to the correct department.

 

Start your own thread in the HSBC Bank Forum and post any questions and progress reports there.

hello thanks for the reply, yeah i did read the faqs but my mate said the they had got it from the bank so i jus wanted to check as i have to go down there tommorrow anyway and i was going to try asking.

can i take the letter down to my bank and hand it to them in person?

Yes, you can take it in, personally. Ask for a receipt for the letter.... always cover your back.

 

There is no problem in doing that, but as I said, the branches don't have the facility to do it themselves.
