Business Account Charges

I had a business account (Ltd company) with Yorkshire bank which I closed last year when I closed my business down

 

The bank inform me that because it was a company account the Unfair Contcats Terms Act does not apply and I cannot claim anything

 

is this right ?

Some observations:

 

You say you closed the account when you closed the business and its a LTD company.

 

Is the company still trading, or is it dissolved or dormant?

 

If its dissolved you won't be able to do anything.

Hiya just read your txt and am little worried have just posted thread about business accounts monthly statements, didn't have ltd company but closed business and accounts in July 2005 as unfit to work due accident, can I still claim?

If you have just ceased trading and not put the affairs into the hands of a Liquidator you are still entitled to receive and keep any Assets of your business (subject to Tax where applicable).

 

The Charges applied by a Bank, if proved to be unjust, are Unrealised Assets and you have a right to recover them.
