Hi to all on the site, as i was paid monthley near the end of the month there was little left.

What did it for me was sky asking for money before there time so 36 charge also a bank charge, sky cost me over 90 pounds in 1 month so got rid of that.

Now its the abbey bank must have paid well over 1000 pounds which i am hopeing to get some of it back.

Now we have the RBS whhic i still have an account, i have herd of people being banned from there bank and there accounts closed if they went this way trying to get money back.

When i speak to my manager she say that they are not breaking any law? and i can do what i want.

So what do i do.

Many thanks to all on the site.

hi geowhitt

welcome to the forum:)

start by clicking the link below my signature and have a good read of the FAQs. Also do lots of reading in the Abbey and RBS forums.

Dont be concerned at your bank manager saying that they are not breaking the law, she's hardly going to admit it to your face! But the truth is these charges ARE unlawful and you can get them back. I did!

Once you've had a good read start separate threads in the Abbey and RBS forums and keep us posted of your progress there.

The first step is to get all your statements together, if you haven't kept them, you can request them by sending a Data Protection Act SAR letter to your banks.

Loads of Luck:)

Hi and welcome to the site,

:p

You've definately taken the first step into claiming back what's rightfully yours.

Spend time reading the FAQ's and the Step by Step guide as this will stop you making mistakes along the way. Use the letters and spreadsheets in the Templates Library as these have all been tried and tested in successful claims. Read as many threads as you can especially ones that relate to your bank. This is a SELF HELP site and won’t do the work involved for you. However, everything you need is on here somewhere.

Don't be afraid to ask any questions, no matter how stupid they may seem, but please remember that any advice that you receive is normally based on experience only and that you should seek expert advice if required.

Once you start the process of your claim remember to open a thread in the relative bank forum, this will enable you, and others helping you, to keep track of your claim.

All the best in your claim!!
